Amany Sholkamy completed her PhD in 1997 from Cairo University, Egypt. She is a Professor (full) of medicine and hepatology in the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University since 2008. Amany is a member of the scientific committee of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities since 2013. Amany was the founder and clinical supervisor of the liver ICU in the French Kasr AlAiny H Cairo University in 2005 till now. She is working also as a senior liver transplant consultant in Manual specialized H Cairo University since 2004, and senior oncologist in Internal Medicine at H Cairo university. Amany had supervised many masters and MD researchers through her work in the faculty. She has many national and international publications in the field of hepatology, hepatic emergencies, and liver transplantation. Amany finished a Master's degree in organ procurement and transplantation management from DTI/Barcelona University Spain in 2018.

Prof. Dr. Amin El-Gohary completed his MBBCh in 1972 and his Diploma in General Surgery in 1975 at Cairo University, Egypt. He became a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons in UK: Edinburgh in 1979, London in 1980, and Glasgow in 1997. Prof. Dr. Amin worked initially in Egypt, then moved to Kuwait, then to UK, before coming to UAE in 1983. In the same year, he became the Chief and Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of a large government hospital. Additionally, he held post as a Medical Director for the same hospital starting 1989. He was appointed as Chief Disaster Officer during Gulf War in 1991. He also held post as the Clinical Dean of Gulf Medical College, Ajman for 3 years. Prof. Dr. Amin is well known in Abu Dhabi for his extensive interest and involvement in scientific activities. He is the President of the Pediatric Surgical Association of UAE. He was awarded the Shield of the College of Pakistan in 1996 and the Medal of International Recognition in pediatric urology from the Russian Association of Andrology in 2010. He was given a Silver Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons – Ireland in 1978 and an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons – Glasgow in 1997. In 2001, he became a Visiting Professor at Munster University, Germany. Prof. Dr. Amin is a member of several associations in pediatric surgery: Executive Member of the International Society of Intersex and Hypospadias Disorder (ISHID), British Association of Pediatric Surgery, Egyptian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, and Pan African Association of Pediatric Surgery. He is also the founder and member of the Arab Association of Pediatric Surgeons. Prof. Dr. Amin has an intensive academic and teaching experience, has written several publications in distinguished medical journals, and has made several poster and paper presentations in national and international conferences. Dr. Larry Good has been a practicing gastroenterologist since 1978. Dr. Good graduated Colgate University Magna Cum Laude in 1969 and received his M.D. with Alpha Omega Alpha status from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 1973. Dr. Good served a medical residency from 1973-76 and was Chief Medical Resident in 1976. He was fellowship trained in gastroenterology from 1976-78. Dr. Good has served as the Director of Liver Diseases at Nassau County Medical Center and was for many years Chief, Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at South Nassau Communities Hospital. Dr. Good is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at SUNY Stony Brook. He has given hundreds of lectures in his field and has authored numerous papers and abstracts. Recently, Dr. Good presented the ACG Theater lecture at the American College of Gastroenterology annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois in October, 2014. Dr. Good was Chief Medical Officer at Ritter Pharmaceuticals in Los Angeles, California, where he expanded his research interest in the intestinal microbiome. Dr. Good’s current clinical research activities involve the microbiome, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and the application of orally administered gamma globulin to patients with acute and chronic gastro-intestinal disorders. Dr. Good founded Good Pharmaceutical Development Co., LLC, in 2014. He is their CEO and is developing a topical product for treating neuropathic pain. Dr. Good was recently appointed CEO of Compassionate Care Center of New York, a company founded to provide medical marijuana product safely and affordably to residents of New York State adhering to the evolving NYS regulations and producing a pharmaceutical grade treatment option for specific diagnosis designated use. Dr. Good was appointed as an editor of BMC Gastroenterology, a prestigious on line peer-reviewed medical journal. He is a member of the Speakers Bureau for Entera Health, Abbvie and Cubist Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Good currently receives research grants from Entera Health and Medicus Biosciences. Dr. Good is the former C.E.O. of Compassionate Care Center of NY and has had a long interest in research application of the physiology of natural molecules to multiple disease states. Currently, Dr. Good is the C.E.O. of New Century Health Alliance, L.L.C., a Continuing Medical Education Company certified to provide 6.25 AMA PRA credits for education in the area of medical marijuana treatment. In May, 2016, Dr. Good was named to the Steering Committee for Medical Marijuana Research and Education Division, Department of Integrated Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medical University in Philadelphia. He has just completed a manuscript soon to be published on the treatment of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis with medical marijuana pharmaceuticals.

Susan graduated with a B.Sc from NUI Maynooth in Biology and Mathematics and a research PhD in host-miocrobe interactions. She was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship to examine cis and trans acting factors affecting mRNA synthesis and microbial gene expression at the Ecole Normal Superieure, Paris which included a stint at the Max Planck Institute, Berlin. Before returning to UCC, Susan was a postdoctoral scientist at Trinity College Dublin and the Univerity of Bath, UK.Susan’s main interest is in microbial genetic and biochemical systems that alter eukaryotic host signaling. Susan is currently a Lecturer in the School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a PI in the APC Research Theme 4 Host- Microbe Dialogue.

Joao R. Mesquita (D.V.M., M.Sc.; Ph.D.) is a Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu where he teaches topics within Infectious Diseases for more than 10 years. In the past decade, he has focused on Virology, where he has published 44 papers in Scopus-indexed Journals. He has won several scientific prizes from different societies and conferences, where he has presented numerous oral and poster presentations.

His research interests are focused on animal and human virology, mainly on zoonotic viruses, with special interest on surveillance tools and epidemiology
